Yo, guys. Something caught my attention last night and into today and I wanted to pass it around, maybe generate some discussion regarding the bailout.

Some of the other senators in the house have proposed a different bill that wouldn't cost the taxpayers nearly so much to bail out the banks that caused this mess in the first place. Check this video out if you've got a few minutes.

Personally? I'd love for this act to get more recognition. We, the taxpayers, are giving this free money to banks in an attempt to free them of these bad properties, and the least we can do is float some other propositions rather than hastily run into giving a check to them. Each of us has a voice, and now more than ever, I think we should use it.

Also, if you want to read more about the proposed act, check it out here: The No BAILOUT Act.

EDIT: If you follow almost to the end of the video, Senator Kaptur mentions "Let's Play Bailout" on Youtube. Oh my gosh. I LOVE this woman. :D The video is below.

People, please, pass this stuff around! Contact your senators and representatives and let's deal with this matter properly!

Below is the letter I wrote to Senator Landrieu of Louisiana. If you are a fellow resident of Louisiana and feel the same way, click here to find links to your congressmen and women, and also how to contact them to voice your opinion. It's actually a lot easier than you'd think! Just be sure to be considerate and concise. They listen, but we need to speak to them and let them know how we feel. Here's a link for some tips regarding etiquette for messages sent to them.

Make sure to educate yourselves on the issue too! Be reasonable and rational, but make your feelings known to the people who represent you in Congress.
