And here is your host, St. Bernard Parish with the home of Tigeron Starfire and his mother...

Uploaded the first batch of photos. I know our house wasn't hit as bad as others, but take a look at some of the photos I took around the Parish, the Superdome, and the house. Mold city. Hopefully I can get the rest of the rooms with the next go around with my aunt in Gretna one day soon.

Didn't your car look like that anyways?
I'm glad you came out of it okay, and that your house was still standing. Isn't your mom's house, like, RIGHT next to that HUGE swamp that surrounds Violet?

Lots of moald. we had that problem too, but some bleach and lots of Kilz(R) took care of that.
Still lots to do though, we still haven't fixed everything from Ivan... sheesh.

*snicker* It did, but now it's just a lot muddier, I imagine. Like, if it wasn't totalled before...

Wouldn't call it a swamp, but the ditch, and then there's South Lake just to the NE of us, and I hear Lake Borgne was the culprit who filled our homes with all that mud. My next door neighbor got knee high deposits of it in their house, so we're kinda lucky in getting only ankle deep.

The mold though, I was wondering if I went crazy with bleach spray if that would kill it enough to where we could try to salvage more from the house, but venting the spores out might do more good for now. Did you have to take down any sheet rock?

no, it was all surface stuff.
we cleaned it all off as best we could with bleach, vented the whole house (had to bomb for fleas when we got back, they were EVERYWHERE... couldn't even sleep the first night back!) and used Kilz on the spots.
The moald left stains all over the walls, and there were lots of water spots on the ceiling, so we painted over it all.
There were already holes in our walls that one of our room amtes put there, so I patched those.
heh, the sheet rock I bought was thicker than what was already in here, so it looks funny.

Oh yeah, but my aunt had water even higher in her house, (two feet above her second story) and Arabi I'm told had 22 feet of water at one point. Gonna be a while, that's for sure.
