Minimal Power Management Settings are Go!
Jan. 15th, 2008 07:04 amIt's amazing what a little poking and prodding will find for you if you do the leg work to search for it.
I was having some cooling issues with my new computer, and I thought I had the Cool n' Quiet settings going for my AMD Athlon X2 6400+ processor. Turns out, I had to enable it under Power Options in the control panel and selecting "Minimal Power Management" for my Power Scheme. Thus, although I also installed a new case fan to blow out more air, and ran power to the front one, my case is now running a freaking 20 degrees cooler. And that's in Celcius, mind you, not Farenheit.
Hot damn. Or not.
*puts his geek quotient up one more notch*
