Like I've told a few people already, I wasn't really won over until it started getting harder, and more in line with the beat.
As it is, I got the game last Friday, and I'm closing in on the end of the Elite Beat Divas stages, with all songs unlocked. My favorites so far?
1. ABC (Kitty! ...though he reminds me a lot of PJ in Parappa.)
2. Makes No Difference (Just plain rock fun. Awesome song.)
3. La La (Kinky! Mrrowr. ;3 )
4. September (I LOVE what the mom does just to make her kid happy...guilty pleasure. ;) )
5. The Anthem (Much like 2, really easy to jive with)
I mean, I basically love all of the songs. The only ones I don't like are Let's Dance, I Was Born To Love You, and Canned Heat. YMCA is an odd fit. It's fun, but the story that went with it is just...odd. But even with the songs I'm not so keen on, they're still relatively fun even if they're challenging. Now, I'll admit, I'm not as fond of it as I am Phoenix Wright, but it's still easily one of the best games out on the DS right now. ;) Even IF you don't think the songs won't work, if you can get into the beat, it's totally enjoyable. ..but make no mistake, this game demands your attention later on...but that's why I love it. The challenge made it even more fun, and that's what I craved from it going into it from playing Ouendan originally.
Now to just make an EBA icon. :) Heck, speaking of, I need something...anything on there about my love of all things Nintendo. That's sorely missing from my icon list.
Aside from that, last week, I also got Tales of Symphonia and Phoenix Wright: Justice For All. ...Gamestop gave away my pre-order bonus. <= ( I still need to email Capcom about that, but hopefully I can still get my set. Haven't played ToS, but PW2, I'm on case 3. They're a bit more involved than I expected, and the life bar just makes it more arduous. I absolutely hate having an FAQ on hand when it gets low, but it's nice to refer back to. ^_^;; Also, there is a definite writing difference in the second game compared to the first. I don't know if it was the bump on the head, but Phoenix...doesn't seem as sharp as he was in the first game. He also seems a little cockier, and not quite as cool-headed as in the first game. Maybe it's the loss of Edgy? Who knows. More on PW2 later. ;3
Also, Isfa... If you thought Jumpin' Jack Flash was bad with Agent J? Wait until you start playing with the Divas. /=)
EDIT: Just beat the game in full a few hours ago. ...and I can't wait to play against someone else. XD
